The art-world is always in need of tricksters. Always. Those practices and positions seem ungraspable and difficult to contain when they are initially categorised or discussed.

Nezhla Imanzadeh’s practice seems to have this quality, and this is perhaps due to awareness and inherent distrust of thinking of authorship as singular, or perhaps as not even being possible. In her recent work, she deals with an element of contrarian expectation and the existentiality of art, creation, and critique, both on an individual and societal level.
